National Catholic Rural Life Conference head to step down

Published: 2007-05-08

WASHINGTON (CNS) -- Holy Cross Brother David Andrews has resigned as executive director of the National Catholic Rural Life Conference after 13 years in the post. The rural life conference, with headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, takes an advocacy role for family farmers and rural communities across the United States. Brother Andrews' tenure will end May 31. He said the rural life conference's board will meet soon afterward to name an interim director and outline plans to find a successor, with hopes of having one in place by the end of the summer. In a May 3 telephone interview with Catholic News Service, Brother Andrews said he was going on a sabbatical, with studies at Chicago Theological Union.
