Chicago Archdiocese launches Polish-language Catholic newspaper
Published: 2006-10-30
CHICAGO (CNS) -- The Archdiocese of Chicago has begun publishing a Polish-language Catholic newspaper, believed to be the first publication of its kind to be sponsored by a U.S. Catholic diocese. Katolik, a 20-page tabloid with six pages in color, will be published on the first Sunday of every month. It will include news and information about Poland, Chicago's Polish community and the Catholic Church on a local, national and international level. "With Katolik, we hope to reach Polish Catholics all across the archdiocese," said Barbara Otto, news editor. She formerly worked as a reporter for Niedziela w/Chicago (Sunday in Chicago), a Poland-published magazine distributed throughout Chicago's Polish community.
