
Ronald Jackson elected to head Catholic conference directors' group

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (CNS) -- Ronald G. Jackson, executive director of the District of Columbia Catholic Conference, is the new president of the National Association of Catholic Conference Directors. Elected to a two-year term at the national organization's summer meeting in Kansas City, Jackson succeeds Christopher T. Dodson, executive director of the North Dakota Catholic Conference. Also elected at the meeting were: Edward E. "Ned" Dolejsi of the California Catholic Conference, vice president; Michael P. Farmer of the Kansas Catholic Conference, treasurer; and Robert J. O'Hara Jr. of the Pennsylvania Catholic Conference, secretary. The 35 state Catholic conferences currently in the U.S. are the public policy agencies for the bishops in those states. The national organization meets twice a year to address issues of common concern.
