New Web program helps parishes design worship aids, bulletins

PORTLAND, Ore. (CNS) -- Oregon Catholic Press has launched a new Web-based program for parishes to design, customize and print their own worship aids, programs and church bulletins, including service music. Called PrintandPraise, the program can be used to create and print worship aids and music in English or Spanish. "There's nothing like it in the church today," said Pete Velander, Oregon Catholic Press director of e-products. "More and more churches are using programs for Sunday services, Velander said. "Unfortunately, many communities don't have the skills or resources to produce something beautiful, readable and inspiring." For $130 a year subscribers can purchase "Song Print" as a stand-alone program, providing access to some 2,700 songs in GIF or PDF format -- with a choice of downloading the songs with or without musical notation. For an additional $169 subscribers also get "Worship Program," which allows them to lay out the program for an entire worship service, including prayers, readings, music and clip art. It cannot be purchased without subscribing to "Song Print."
