Life movement gets younger, larger by the year, say protesters

WASHINGTON (CNS) -- Maria and Jessica Teague are young, sharp and trendy. The two sisters -- like the more than 20,000 other high school students jammed into the MCI Center in Washington Jan.23 -- look like they walked right off the high school hallways of Lindsay Lohan's 2004 hit movie "Mean Girls." They look like any other normal, fashion-conscious high school teenagers. But, in addition to their trendy attire and youthful energy, these girls said they are passionate about the pro-life movement and were participants in the annual pro-life march from the National Mall to the Supreme Court. For them, its personal. The Washington Archdiocese sponsored the event in the sports arena, which took place before the March for Life. Students were entertained with music from recording artists Steve Angrisano and Tony Melendez and the Tow Jam and "Who Do You Say I Am" bands. Maria Teague, 16, and her sister, Jessica Teague, 17, came with their church group from St. Mary's of the Assumption Parish in southern Maryland.
