AGANA, Guam (CNS) -- Nearly 25 years after he touched the hearts of thousands of Guam Catholics with a stirring visit in 1981, the late Pope John Paul II is still being remembered in special ways. The Archdiocese of Agana held a ceremony Dec. 14 renaming its Archdiocesan Resource Center in tribute to Pope John Paul. Archbishop Anthony Sablan Apuron of Agana blessed the John Paul the Great Center for Evangelization as friends and employees of the chancery office watched. "He certainly touched our lives," the archbishop said, recalling the late pope's historic visit to the U.S. territory Feb. 22-23, 1981.
