What I Have Seen and Heard - Archbishop Gregory's Weekly Column

San Antonio Archdiocese runs TV channel that broadcasts all day long

SAN ANTONIO (CNS) -- In San Antonio if you can't sleep and want a spiritual uplift at 2 a.m., tune in to Channel 15, and you can learn about the life of Christ, be instructed on the faith and get help in deepening your spirituality. Catholic Television of San Antonio, owned and operated by the San Antonio Archdiocese, runs religious programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week on Channel 15. "You can't limit people's needs to prime time," said Deacon Pat Rodgers, executive director of CTSA, which is entering its 25th year of existence. "This isn't a TV station. This is a ministry, an electronic parish. You don't lock the door after dark," said Deacon Rodgers. San Antonio is only one of seven U.S. dioceses that operate a round-the-clock TV station.
