Published: 2005-12-07

METUCHEN, N.J. (CNS) -- Kathleen Ogle said her new post as managing editor of The Catholic Spirit, Metuchen diocesan newspaper, combines her "passion for news and managing publications" with her love for service to the church. Ogle's career has included more than a decade in medical journalism, a year in full-time volunteer lay ministry, work as a chaplain intern at a hospital and at a transitional housing facility for women and children, and studies in theology. "I am thrilled to be here," she said of her new job, which she started Nov. 17. "I have always wanted to work on a diocesan newspaper, but I never imagined I would have the opportunity." A native of Spotswood, Ogle holds a bachelor's degree in English from Douglas College in New Brunswick and has completed coursework for a master's degree in theology from Washington Theological Union in Washington.
