IRVINE, Calif. (CNS) -- St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Irvine has pledged $1 million to the University of California-Irvine Interfaith Center to help the facility secure a permanent location. The donation is a portion of a larger fund bequeathed to the parish by an anonymous parishioner. The parish finance council allocated the money to the university center as part of a stewardship effort. Father Thomas Pado, pastor, said he hoped the contribution would encourage other churches and organizations to aid in the effort. With the St. Elizabeth donation, a fundraising drive for the center was launched.
