SALISBURY, Md. (CNS) -- In early August the Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary plan to open a residential training program in Maryland designed to prepare homeless and unemployed men to find and hold a job and live independently. Joseph House Workshop will train up to 10 men at a time. They must be ready to work to change their lives by completing their basic education as needed, according to Sister Connie Ladd, director of Joseph House Ministries, the charitable organization founded in 1965 in Baltimore that moved to Salisbury in the 1970s. Residents of the workshop will learn job skills within a structured, supportive environment designed to give them the strength to avoid slipping back into old habits and lifestyles, said Anne J. Cuomo, chairman of the workshop's planning committee.
