SILVER SPRING, Md. (CNS) -- Conventual Franciscan Father Paul Lininger has been named executive director of the Conference of Major Superiors of Men. He will succeed Marist Father Ted Keating, who has held the position since 1999. He will remain in the post through August. The conference, based in the Washington suburb of Silver Spring, is the Vatican-sanctioned national representative body for the leadership of men in religious and apostolic communities in the United States. It serves more than 20,000 religious priests and brothers. An announcement on the selection of Father Lininger to head the organization noted that the priest's experience in administration and counseling will benefit him in his new position.
