Founding Metuchen editor to take Trenton diocesan PR post

METUCHEN, N.J. (CNS) -- Rayanne Damiano, founding editor of The Catholic Spirit, Metuchen's diocesan newspaper, has resigned to take the post of public relations director for the Diocese of Trenton. The Catholic Spirit debuted in 1996 and has won 29 journalism awards, most recently this year's general excellence award from the Catholic Press Association for newspapers in its circulation category. Damiano has captured six CPA awards for her own editorials and columns. Damiano's service to the diocese precedes The Catholic Spirit, as she became in 1990 a reporter for the Metuchen edition of The Monitor, Trenton's diocesan newspaper. The Metuchen Diocese was established in 1981.
