CHA elects new officers

SAN DIEGO (CNS) -- Sister Karin Dufault, vice president for mission leadership at the Providence Health System in Seattle, was elected June 7 to chair the board of trustees of the Catholic Health Association for the next year. A Sister of Providence, Sister Karin succeeds Sister Carol Keehan, a Daughter of Charity who chairs the board of trustees of Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, Fla. In October, Sister Karin will become executive director of Supportive Care of the Dying: A Coalition for Compassionate Care. Sister Karin, who holds a doctorate in nursing, with clinical specialties in oncology and gerontology, will continue as a Providence employee in her new position with the coalition. John J. Finan Jr., president and CEO of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System in Baton Rogue, La., was elected vice chairman of the CHA board, which he will head in fiscal year 2006-2007. Elected to a three-year term as secretary-treasurer was Sandra Bennett Bruce, president and CEO of St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho.
