AOSTA, Italy (CNS) -- The Diocese of Aosta in northern Italy has confirmed that it will host Pope Benedict XVI for his summer vacation in the Alps. "From July 11-28, His Holiness Benedict XVI will vacation at Les Combes di Introd," the Aosta diocesan Web site said June 11. The diocesan spokesman said Pope Benedict will stay near the town of Introd in a small Salesian-owned villa that Pope John Paul II used on numerous occasions. Avvenire, the Italian Catholic daily newspaper, also reported that Pope Benedict's brother, Msgr. Georg Ratzinger, would join the pope for the Alpine vacation.
