BALTIMORE (CNS) -- Christopher Gaul, a veteran journalist who has worked for The Catholic Review, Baltimore's archdiocesan newspaper, for the past 10 years, is retiring. Prior to joining the Review in 1995, the British-born writer had been writing for the Baltimore Sun for six years and reporting for Baltimore television stations for 17 years, first as an investigative reporter and then as a medical reporter. He also had stints as an executive producer in Jacksonville, Fla., Pittsburgh, Washington and Baltimore. After producing a video about a Baltimore archdiocesan program, he began writing for The Catholic Review and was hired as a reporter and then associate and managing editor, all while writing a popular weekly parish life column. For several years, Gaul also produced and hosted "Catholic News Radio" and "Catholic Review TV" for the Baltimore Archdiocese. In his decade with The Catholic Review, he received numerous awards from the Catholic Press Association and the Eileen Egan Award from Catholic Relief Services in 2001.
