DENVER (CNS) -- Carl A. Anderson, supreme knight of the Knights of Columbus, received the Imago Dei (Image of God) Award from the Archdiocese of Denver April 28. The annual award "is given to a person who through daily life and work advances the cause of faith and religion throughout the world," according to the Archdiocese of Denver. The recipient is selected by the two seminaries of the archdiocese. The award went last year to the cast and crew of Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ." Anderson was chosen this year "because of his many contributions to the Catholic Church, including decades spent promoting the culture of life, playing a key role in furthering Catholic education, and since 2000 leading the largest Catholic fraternal organization in the world," the archdiocese said.
