Web shopping site gives Catholic school parents way to reduce tuition

Published: 2005-05-06

BEACHWOOD, Ohio (CNS) -- OneCause, a fund-raising company in Beachwood that hosts an online shopping site, is sending checks to more than 1,000 Catholics schools in about 60 dioceses in the United States this May to help parents with the cost of Catholic school tuition. The company's tuition crediting program, now in its second year, is popular with schools and parents across the country, according to Jim Adair, president of OneCause. He said he has been particularly pleased with the feedback the program has received from parents. "The success stories in such a short time are very encouraging," he said, noting that many parents have earned hundreds of dollars in rebates. Some have earned more than $1,000, he said, and a Florida family earned more than $2,500 toward their tuition payment. Parents earn rebates on tuition through their online shopping. At no cost to the school, OneCause hosts an online shopping Web site, or "online shopping mall," www.onecause.com.
