ST. PAUL, Minn. (CNS) -- Mike Krokos, editor of The Catholic Spirit newspaper in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis for the past five years, has resigned, effective Dec. 17. Krokos is leaving the position to join his wife in Indianapolis. She is pregnant and due with their first child Feb. 5. He will oversee special projects at the Herald Bulletin, a daily newspaper in Anderson, Ind. Archbishop Harry J. Flynn of St. Paul and Minneapolis, publisher of The Catholic Spirit, said Krokos did a "wonderful job" as editor. "His leadership has helped to make this an outstanding newspaper, as witnessed by the awards it has won," including general excellence in its circulation category from the Catholic Press Association in 2003, the archbishop said. "His task was not easy, but he has always faced the challenges and come through beautifully."
