VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- A bomb explosion seriously damaged a Catholic school in Nepal, the third such attack in the last six months. No one was injured when the blast occurred in the late afternoon Nov. 18, about 15 minutes after the school closed for the day, the Vatican missionary news agency Fides reported. The attack occurred at the San Capitanio Elementary School in Tansen, some 200 miles west of the capital, Katmandu. The school, inaugurated last year, is run by the Sisters of Maria Bambina, and its students are mostly non-Christian. The bomb was placed at the school's entrance. It blew out windows and walls and left school furnishings in pieces, school officials said. The school was to be closed for at least two weeks. Jesuit Father Pius Perumana, pro-prefect of the apostolic prefecture in Nepal, said the sisters who run the institution and the parents of the students were shocked.
