NEW YORK (CNS) -- Alex Cubalevic, a television production major at California State University in Northridge, took the first prize of $3,000 in the 17th annual video contest for college students sponsored by The Christophers. The contest asked entrants to interpret The Christophers' theme that "One Person Can Make a Difference." Cubalevic's documentary, "Arc," looks at how one woman touched more than 100 families, including her own, through a program she co-founded for mentally disadvantaged young people. Ashley Pierce, a student at the University of Southern California, won the second prize of $2,000 for "What If ...," which asks what would happen if we were all a little kinder to those around us. The $1,000 third prize went to Dani Pasqualicchio of the University of Nevada at Las Vegas for "Straight From the Streets: The Story of Linda Lera Randle El," which follows the life of an advocate for the homeless in Las Vegas.
