Published: 2004-11-16
SAN ANTONIO (CNS) -- Oblate Father Ronald Rolheiser will begin a term as president of the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio on Aug. 1, 2005. A well-known author, newspaper columnist, speaker and retreat director, Father Rolheiser recently completed a term as general councilor for Canada for his religious community, the Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Until taking up his new assignment, he will take a sabbatical to work on a few writing projects and prepare for his new post. Oblate Father Warren Brown, who has been serving since July as interim president, said Father Rolheiser's "theological expertise and wide international experience will provide a rich resource for Oblate School, its faculty and students, and the local church."
