Published: 2004-09-21

NEW YORK (CNS) -- Covenant House, the international program for homeless and runaway children, said it has fired the executive director of its Latin American program for paying for sex with a 19-year-old man who was once a client of the organization. Bruce Harris, director of Casa Alianza, was fired after recently paying for "sexual favors" with the Honduran man in a hotel room in Tegucigalpa, Honduras' capital, Covenant House said in a Sept. 17 statement. The man had been a client of Casa Alianza in 2002, according to the statement. Harris has admitted that he "acted improperly," the statement said.
