Christophers' student poster contest spotlights making a difference

Published: 2004-09-20

NEW YORK (CNS) -- The 15th annual poster contest for high school students sponsored by The Christophers is asking young people in grades nine through 12 to interpret in an original poster the theme "You Can Make a Difference." A total of eight prizes, including a first prize of $1,000, will be awarded. In announcing this year's international competition, Dennis W. Heaney, president of The Christophers, said, "This contest is a great opportunity for young people to express themselves creatively and, we hope, think about The Christophers' message. Each year, the obvious work they put into their entries shows us that they really want to make the world a better place." Posters, which must be 15 inches by 20 inches and contain the words of the theme, will be judged on overall impact, effectiveness in conveying the theme, originality and artistic merit.
