
New editor, assistant editor named for The Church Today in Louisiana

ALEXANDRIA, La. (CNS) -- Ann Masden, communications director of the Diocese of Alexandria, has named a new editor and assistant editor for The Church Today, Alexandria's diocesan newspaper. Jeannie Petrus, a journalism teacher at Holy Savior Menard Central High School in Alexandria for the past nine years, is the new editor. Joan Ferguson, a graphic artist, will serve as assistant editor. "I am excited about serving as the editor of The Church Today and look forward to working closely with the people in the diocese," Petrus said. Petrus holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's degree in public relations from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. She is currently an adjunct teacher in journalism at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.
