KATMANDU, Nepal (CNS) -- A Catholic priest narrowly escaped injury when a bomb exploded at a Catholic school in Nepal. In Narayanghat, a town about 65 miles southwest of Katmandu, Father George Panachickalkarott was leading a group of children off of the Little Flower School grounds as the bomb went off June 6 in the school building, reported UCA News, an Asian church news agency based in Thailand. The blast damaged furniture and shattered glass in the school. The priest said it appeared that one of the bombers warned him of the bomb in the seconds before the explosion. "I saw a man ... waving to me. I thought he was crazy at first," Father Panachickalkarott said. "But when he shouted, 'Run, there is a bomb,' I ran toward the main school gate with the few local children playing nearby." The bomb went off as they ran, he said.
