Catholic marriage preparation in Denver Archdiocese goes online

Published: 2004-06-08

DENVER (CNS) -- Couples in the Denver Archdiocese who cannot attend traditional Catholic marriage preparation classes now have another option: online marriage preparation. A new online course, which has the approval of the Denver archdiocesan Office of Marriage and Family Life, is offered by Christian and Christine Meert, leaders of the Denver Community of the Beatitudes. The online marriage prep program -- which may be the first of its kind in the country -- will follow the same curriculum and format of the evening classes the couple has been teaching for years. "The couples we'll be working with are from the Internet generation," said Christian Meert, adding that the online classes are a natural outgrowth of the Internet's popularity. The online classes, at www.catholicmarriagepreponline.com, last five weeks and cost $150 per couple, the same price as the "live" classes now offered.
