WASHINGTON (CNS) -- "John Paul II: A Light for the World," a picture-rich collection of essays edited by Mercy Sister Mary Ann Walsh, won the Catholic Press Association's first-place award for popular presentation of the Catholic faith in the book section of this year's CPA awards. The awards were announced May 28 in Washington during the CPA's 94th annual convention. Published by Sheed & Ward, based in the Washington suburb of Lanham, Md., "this visually beautiful book is an absolute treasure in how it presents everything the Catholic Church stands for through the life and teachings of Pope John Paul II," judges said. The book also won third place in the history/biography category.
