Two major faith-based software companies merge

Published: 2004-05-25

PHOENIX (CNS) -- Two faith-based software market companies have merged to form a company with more than 300 employees serving the needs of more than 20,000 clients. Parish Data System Inc., based in Phoenix and serving more than 11,000 Catholic parishes, merged with ACS Technologies, a software company with headquarters in Florence, S.C. ACS provides technology solutions primarily for Protestant churches, schools and faith-based organizations. Each company was founded in 1978, is privately held and offers software programs for church office management, school office management, payroll, facility scheduling, Web site creation and management, and other needs of faith-based organizations. Vincentian Father Mike Boyle, president of Parish Data System, said the merger will allow the company "to get enhanced products out faster and develop programs that we haven't been able to complete due to staff limitations." He said, "What was very difficult to do with a staff of 17, we are now able to do with a combined staff of over 300."
