Published: 2004-05-14
DENVER (CNS) -- To accommodate a growing number of men who are preparing for priesthood, Archbishop Charles J. Chaput of Denver blessed a new $4.7 million seminary addition May 7 at the archdiocesan John Paul II Center for the New Evangelization. The new building is attached to Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary but it will also serve students of neighboring St. John Vianney Theological Seminary. There are 81 men studying at the two seminaries. Students from both seminaries and archdiocesan personnel will use the first-floor classrooms of the addition. It also has administrative offices, residential rooms on the second floor and a chapel called the Sanctuary of the Word. "The new addition to the seminary is a great blessing to both seminaries," said Father Michael Glenn, rector of St. John Vianney, which was established in 1999.
