New Catholic liberal arts college planned for Wyoming
Published: 2004-05-12
CASPER, Wyo. (CNS) -- Bishop David L. Ricken of Cheyenne, along with a committee made up of members from within his diocese and around the country, has announced plans to create a four-year Catholic liberal arts college in Wyoming. The announcement was published in the May issue of the Wyoming Catholic Register, the monthly diocesan newspaper. The as-yet-unnamed Catholic college will combine a liberal education rooted in the Great Books of Western civilization, the Catholic faith, and the Western intellectual tradition, with a special emphasis on the students' direct experience of the natural beauties and life of Wyoming's rural culture. The college is conceived as a private, four-year, Catholic, coeducational and residential college for traditional students ages 18-24
