SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (CNS) -- A funeral Mass was celebrated April 28 for Holy Cross Father Thomas Feeley, who taught philosophy at Stonehill College in Easton for nearly four decades and was an advocate for the canonization of "the rosary priest," Holy Cross Father Patrick Peyton. Father Feeley, 74, died April 21 in Miami after a bout with pulmonary fibrosis. He had lived at the Holy Cross community residence in Easton. The funeral Mass, at Holy Cross Parish in South Easton, was attended by members of the Congregation of the Holy Cross and the Stonehill College community. Holy Cross Father Mark T. Cregan, president of Stonehill College, said in a statement that Father Feeley's death was "a loss for both the college and for Family Rosary to which has given so much in recent years." He added, "Father Tom served generations of students at Stonehill with distinction and compassion. He was also well-loved by countless alumni."
