NOTRE DAME, Ind. (CNS) -- Jennifer Mathile Prikkel, a 1995 graduate of St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, has pledged $3 million toward the construction of a new academic building at the college. Her parents, Clayton and MaryAnn Mathile, will match up to $3 million in additional funds raised by St. Mary's, creating the potential for $9 million in new funds for the proposed $15 million facility. The Mathiles, former owners of the Iams pet food company, sold their family-owned business in 1999 to Procter and Gamble. "St. Mary's professors changed my life by challenging me to be my best intellectually and spiritually," said Prikkel, a member of the college's board of trustees, in a statement. "I can't think of a better way to express my gratitude than by helping to create an environment that meets their modern-day needs."
