ST. LOUIS (CNS) -- For the past 40 years, Richard C. Finke has covered assignments ranging from historical occasions to emotion-packed moments for the St. Louis Review and has produced photographs that have won acclaim. When asked about his favorite photo, the 86-year-old photographer said with a smile: "Any picture that turned out well." The soft-spoken Finke, who retired in March, noted that some people are lucky in their careers. "If I could do it all over again I would. I enjoyed doing all of it. Every day, every event was different," he told the Review, newspaper of the St. Louis Archdiocese. A back injury led to his retirement, but overall his health has been robust. He often easily juggled multiple assignments a day, traveling to all parts of the 10-county archdiocese.
