Pope to lead full slate of Holy Week, Easter celebrations

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Pope John Paul II is set to lead the full slate of Holy Week and Easter celebrations starting with Palm Sunday Mass in St. Peter's Square. Despite the pontiff's declining health, he will preside over a full schedule of Holy Week events, including two Masses on Holy Thursday, a prayer service and the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil followed by Mass on Easter, April 11.
