Published: 2004-02-18

ST. LOUIS (CNS) -- LaTrice McBee is not shy about discussing her Catholic faith. McBee, a team manager and process engineer with the Dial Corp. in St. Louis, is featured in the February 2004 issue of Ebony magazine as one of its "30 leaders who are under 30." Listed in the magazine's write-up about her is her work with the St. Louis Archdiocesan Committee for the National Black Catholic Congress and her position as co-chair of the Bowman Francis Harambee Bakijana Young Adult Ministry. The member of St. Alphonsus Liguori Parish noted that she is proud to say she was raised a Catholic. She has a passion for working in the community, with a special interest in ensuring that African-American youths and young adults have a positive and productive role in the church and community. "I have been positively influenced by the African-American Catholic community all my life," she said. Her participation in the black Catholic congress "is a way for me to give back and encourage youth and young adults to stay in the church and find their place," she said.
