
U.S. bishops' National Advisory Council has new officers

WASHINGTON (CNS) -- Adriana Vlasic of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., will serve for 2004 as chairwoman of the U.S. bishops' National Advisory Council, which recently added 16 new members. The 63-member council meets semi-annually to review documentation and offer recommendations concerning matters before the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Other new officers for 2004 are Mercy Sister Linda Werthman of Farmington Hills, Mich., chairwoman-elect; Rose Hogan of Anna, Ill., secretary; Juan Escobar of Pottstown, Pa., internal affairs; Father William D. Hammer, Louisville, Ky., reactive chairman; and Msgr. Richard Sniezyk, Springfield, Mass., proactive chairman.
