
Mission organization seeks entries for journalism competition

NEW YORK (CNS) -- The Society for the Propagation of the Faith is accepting entries for its annual Archbishop Edward T. O'Meara awards for articles on mission work. The mission organization accepts entries from diocesan newspapers, directors of diocesan offices of the Propagation of the Faith and Catholic magazines. Deadline for entries is Feb. 29. Material published in 2003 may be submitted in the following categories: Diocesan or archdiocesan newspapers: Visits to missions; interviews with missionaries; news events from the missions; mission series; or original promotion of World Mission Sunday 2003; diocesan or archdiocesan directors of Propagation of the Faith: Single article or original promotion of World Mission Sunday 2003; Catholic magazines: Single article with worldwide missionary theme. The awards will be announced in the spring and presented during the annual convention of the Catholic Press Association May 26-28 in Washington.
