PASADENA, Calif. (CNS) -- The identical twin of the Rose Queen for the 2004 Pasadena Tournament of Roses recently had some words of advice for her sister, Megan. "Don't freak out --- take one day at a time," said Erin Chinen, a senior along with her sister at Pasadena's La Salle High School. Selected from a group of more than 1,030 young women for qualities of poise, community involvement and academic achievement, Rose Queen Megan Chinen and the other six princesses of her Royal Court --- which includes fellow La Salle senior Christina Mills and Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy senior Laura Stassel --- seem unlikely to lose it during their many public appearances. "It's still overwhelming. I have a Rose Parade button with my picture on it. I'm really humbled," said Megan Chinen. "It's a great opportunity to be part of Pasadena history," added Mills, during a joint interview on the La Salle campus where the two girls attend the same advanced-placement biology class. They are both members of Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena and chose La Salle for its nurturing environment.
