Watch out, Donny and Marie: Here come the Manganos
Published: 2003-12-10
BAY SHORE, N.Y. (CNS) -- They're often mistaken for twins, with their dark hair, piercing green eyes and matching smiles. Together, they've used their brother-sister musical talent not only to raise money for charity, but to do some unusual evangelization. Father Charles Mangano, 42, associate pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Bay Shore, and his big sister, Laurie, 45, a wife, mother and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in West Islip, have collaborated on three albums, hosted nights of recollection at parishes, and recorded more than 150 episodes of the weekly program "Revival" for the Rockville Centre diocesan cable television channel. In early December they performed at a Christmas concert to benefit a children's services agency and the Life Center of Long Island.
