Parishioners at Virginia church pitch in to help couple with triplets

Published: 2003-12-01

RICHMOND, Va. (CNS) -- Thanks to their fellow parishioners at Holy Cross Church in Lynchburg, Joe and Katie Marotta have a lot of helping hands to assist them in caring for the newest additions to their family -- triplets born Oct. 31. The three babies, born a minute apart in a scheduled Caesarean section at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, are, in order of birth: Caroline Grace, 5 pounds, 5 ounces; John Joseph "Jack," 6 pounds, 3 ounces; and Michael Cole, 5 pounds, 9 ounces. They came home from the hospital Nov. 3 and joined older brother, Christopher, 2. The couple, both 29, learned they were going to have triplets during their first visit to the obstetrician in early May.
