Published: 2003-12-01
CHICAGO (CNS) -- The International Catholic Stewardship Council presented its 2003 Christian Stewardship Award for outstanding service on behalf of stewardship to William J. Stoloski of the Diocese of Portland, Maine, during the council's recent convention in Chicago. "More than anyone else, he is responsible for the introduction and acceptance of stewardship in the Diocese of Portland, Maine," the council said of Stoloski. "Without him, stewardship in the ... diocese would have remained a poorly understood concept, with no influence on how we live our lives." The 2003 Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy Award for outstanding work in parish stewardship went to St. Anne Parish in Columbus, Ga.
