WASHINGTON (CNS) -- The Archdiocese of Hartford, Conn., and the Pittsburgh and Greensburg, Pa., dioceses won multiple 2003 Proclaim honors from the U.S. bishops' Catholic Communication Campaign. An announcement on the winners of Proclaim Awards and certificates of merit, honoring excellence in diocesan communications, was issued in Washington Nov. 6. The awards were presented in mid-October in St. Louis during the assembly of the Catholic Academy for Communication Arts Professionals, formerly known as Unda-USA. The Hartford Archdiocese won three honors -- one Proclaim Award and two certificates of merit. It received the Proclaim Award in the category of television talk shows for "On This Rock -- MVP" a Saturday half-hour talk show for teens exploring messages of popular music. The archdiocese's certificates of merit were in the category of TV programs, for "Crossroad Magazine" a weekly half-hour newsmagazine program, and in the category of regular televised Masses, for "Celebration of the Eucharist," a daily half-hour TV Mass.
