U.S. bishops' charter for protecting children available in Spanish

Published: 2003-10-28

WASHINGTON (CNS) -- The U.S. bishops' charter outlining policy for protecting minors from sex abuse by clergy is now available in Spanish, according to an announcement from the U.S. bishops' Department of Communications. The Spanish version of the "Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People" can be downloaded directly from the Web site of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. A pamphlet version also can be ordered through the same Web site: www.usccb.org/ocyp/charter.htm. The charter was approved in June 2002 by the bishops and slightly modified last November after consultations with Vatican officials.
