Published: 2003-10-14

CINCINNATI (CNS) -- St. Anthony Messenger Press, a Catholic publisher based in Cincinnati, has acquired Charis Books, the Catholic imprint of Servant Publications in Ann Arbor, Mich. The acquisition brings the combined list of St. Anthony Messenger Press books and Charis books to more than 370 titles, an increase of 50 percent. Franciscan Father Jeremy Harrington, St. Anthony Messenger Press publisher, said, "Both presses have the same mission of communicating the Gospel in a popular way." Authors from both St. Anthony Messenger Press and Charis "have written to foster spiritual renewal of individuals and the church," he added. St. Anthony Messenger Press, a ministry of the Franciscans of St. John the Baptist Province, will handle all operations for the Charis imprint in its Cincinnati offices and warehouse.
