Eucharistic Congress Speakers Set To Engage, Inspire
COLLEGE PARK-When the 18th annual Eucharistic Congress convenes at the Georgia International Convention Center in a few short weeks, it will be an event hosted by Atlanta's three bishops—Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory, Auxiliary Bishop Luis R. Zarama and Auxiliary Bishop David P. Talley—attended by thousands and featuring prayer, music, halls filled with exhibitors and many renowned speakers and musicians.
As part of the Year of Faith, which in the Archdiocese of Atlanta is also a Marian Year, the theme of the Congress is "Do Whatever He Tells You—Mary and the Year of Faith."
Pilgrims To Fatima Include Many Devoted Popes
ATLANTA—Pope Francis, in asking that his papacy be consecrated to Our Lady of Fatima, continues the close interrelationship between popes and this 20th-century apparition of Mary.
On May 13, 2013, the bishops of Portugal are expected to pray on Pope Francis' behalf this prayer of consecration, as he has asked them to do.
MAP Brings Medical Aid To Missionaries, Clinics
ATLANTA—Scott Walters doesn't mind holding out a tin cup. In fact, he loves it.
"I tell people I have the world's best job. I have the privilege of begging for the poor," said Walters, the chief development officer for MAP International. "It's truly humbling and a joyful, joyful experience," he said.
