Atlanta youth honored at National Junior Beta Convention

ATLANTA—Rising high school freshman Joshua Owens earned an award at the National Junior Beta Convention.

Owens, who will be attending Our Lady of Mercy High School, Fayetteville, competed in social studies at the convention in Nashville, Tennessee. He earned third place on the national stage. In an earlier Georgia contest, he placed second in the same category. Owens attends St. Anthony of Padua Church, Atlanta.

The National Beta Club is the largest independent, nonprofit, educational youth organization in America, according to its website.
