IHM boys win eighth-grade basketball tournament

ATLANTA—Several Catholic Metro League of Atlanta teams participated in the recent Shamrock Basketball Tournament in Charlotte, North Carolina. Competing in the 32-team bracket, the Immaculate Heart of Mary eighth-grade boys basketball team won five games to win the championship.

Another CMLA team, St. Jude, was runner-up. The Shamrock Tournament has a 50-year history of hosting Catholic school eighth-grade teams throughout the Southeast. Rick Winstel is the coach of the IHM team and Sheri Etienne is the assistant coach.
