ATLANTA—Sophia Academy hosted its annual Dads Breakfast on Wednesday, Sept. 24, with Georgia State University football coach and parent, Trent Miles, who gave an inspirational talk. The traditional Chick-fil-A chicken biscuit meal was served to fathers and their children.

Miles emphasized that his responsibilities as a good father come first, and that success in any job starts with that goal. He includes his family in all football activities and feels that is important to model to the young men on the team, who are learning how to be the fathers they are meant to be. He encouraged all the fathers to be proud of their “teams” and described the experience of being the cheerleader day after day when the “wins” are not happening.

His inspiration as a coach and manager comes first from his memories of his own father, and he encouraged the men to keep that in mind—children are always watching.

Sophia Academy is an independent Catholic school, sponsored by the Society of Mary.
