Conyers parish to host death penalty conference

CONYERS—Attorney Dale Recinella will headline a daylong death penalty conference at St. Pius X Church on Saturday, Nov. 1. The event, sponsored by the St. Pius Chapter of the Order of St. Luke the Physician, will be held from 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The conference will take place in the parish hall at St. Pius X Church, 2621 Georgia Highway 20, SE, Conyers.

Recinella is a Florida lawyer and Catholic lay chaplain for the Florida death row and solitary confinement. He is the author of “Now I Walk on Death Row.”

The day will begin at 9:15 a.m. with check-in. Sessions include: 10 a.m., “Our Family’s Journey into Service to the Least”; 12:45 p.m., “Crying with Mary at the Foot of the Cross: Ministry to the Condemned, Their Loved Ones, and to the Families of Murder Victims”; and 2:30 p.m., “A Eucharistic People: From the Suffering Servant of Calvary to Serving the Suffering of Humanity.”

Lunch, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., will be provided.
