Youth ministers earn new certificates

MARIETTA—Fifteen catechists from Marietta’s Transfiguration Church completed the youth ministry program offered by the University of Dayton through the Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation.

The program is made up of eight five-week courses over a year and a half. The youth ministry program, in addition to other requirements, earned the graduates the status of master catechist in youth ministry within the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

The catechists are Peter Kanzler, Jennifer Miller, Kathy Montag, Erin West, Tyler Moseley, Jean Sherwood, Bill West, John Breaugh, Mark and Tracy Turpin, Mark Fulcher, Tom Welch, Dev and Daphne Lobo and Julia Bacce.

The online program covers a variety of subjects, from adult formation leadership and social justice to foundations for leadership in ministry to Marianist studies.   The classes can be taken with a reduced tuition rate.
